Rule Of Thirds

June 25th, 2009 No comments

bee From digital-photography-school.com - Perhaps the most well know principle of photographic composition is the ‘Rule of Thirds‘. It’s one of the first things that budding digital photographers learn about in classes on photography and rightly so as it is the basis for well balanced and interesting shots. I will say right up front however that rules are meant to be broken and ignoring this one doesn’t mean your images are necessarily unbalanced or uninteresting. However a wise person once told me that if you intend to break a rule you should always learn it first to make sure your breaking of it is all the more effective!

mooseBy Patrick Arseneau – I was walking the dog last night around 7pm along the marsh between Riverview and Moncton (I live in Riverview). Just as Iwas about to head back home, I see in the far distance what seemed to be way too big to be a dog. It was too far to tell and it could’ve been a horse. I walked back home to grab my camera and ventured back on the trail.

While most of them are being fair to the creator, some are a little surprising.
