alabama_hillsThe HDR Conundrum
By RC Conception on www.layersmagazine.comFor the past couple of weeks, there’s been this brew of comments popping up on the Interwebs concerning the topic of HDR. For quite some time now, we’ve been seeing HDR crop up in popularity, and with any rise in a technique, there is almost always an equally rising backlash for it. This year’s HDR was last years “Dave Hill” technique/ Lucis Art phase. Last year’s “Dave Hill” tech / Lucis Art phase was the year before THAT’s “Infrared Photography” craze. The fever has long since died on THAT! (And, for the record.. I happen to -like- Dave Hill’s work.. I make it a mention as how persnickety we can be as a group, and not a critique of his technique).

canon_efBy Darren Rowse from digital-photography-school.com – A couple of weeks ago I asked readers what their favorite DSLR lenses are. The responses were quite overwhelming with 170 comments left and just under 60 lenses mentioned. Today I waded through all of the comments left and identified the most popular DSLR lenses mentioned. I’ve arranged them in three categories – Canon (89 votes cast), Nikon (68 votes mentioned) and Other (13 votes). These are the categories because Canon and Nikon lenses were mentioned by most comment leavers where as there was a much smaller representation of all other brands.

Well I’m about to share a little secret. Yes I do have a fairly good camera, but the real reason why the sky is so blue and the colors are so saturated is because I’m using a polarizer.

25 Electrifying Pictures of Lightning Photography

lightningArticle from www.digitalpicturezone.com - Lightning photography is both one of the most tricky and one of the most frustrating types of photography. You get only one chance for the particular situation – it is not like portrait photography where you can go back in the studio if the photos didn’t come out well. Photographing lightning at night is relatively easy provided you have access to remote areas away from town/city lights. The results can be exciting but they are also partly based upon luck.
