Why I Love Geocaching

May 9th, 2010 2 comments

For those who don’t know what geocaching is, you should definitely check it out at geocaching.com. One of the reasons I enjoy it so much besides getting out for fresh air, is that it brings me to locations I’ve never been before. I get to see things I never noticed before even in my own city. Sometimes I’ll be sitting on the couch trying to figure out what do to enjoy a nice sunny day. Well geocaching is the perfect hobby to get you out of the house and go for a walk.

Video of our Punta Cana Vacation

April 21st, 2010 1 comment

I just spent a week at the Catalonia Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana, Republic Dominican. We were a group of 6 and we all had a GREAT time. It was a great opportunity for me to try the video feature on my Canon 5d Mark II. I used iMovie ‘09 to edit the montage. It’s a great software and very easy to use. It took a long time to put together but with time and experience I think the editing will become easier.

Punta Cana April 2010

April 18th, 2010 3 comments

I just got back from a very nice vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We stayed at the Catalonia Bavaro resort. I had every intention to go on excursions and take shots outside the resort, but once I got there I turned into relaxation mode and it just didn’t happen. That didn’t stop me from taking a few photos. It was a really nice resort and I would recommend it to anyone. Me and my wife did go for a long walk outside the resort along the beach. We saw a small town, a few locals and fishermen.

Canon 5D Mark II

February 4th, 2010 4 comments

by Patrick Arseneau – I’m finally making the jump to a full frame DSLR. I just ordered the Canon 5D Mark II. Sure I’m pretty happy with the Canon 40D I have now, but I got a chance to play around with someone’s 5D not long ago and I probably shouldn’t have done that. It convinced me to take a chunk out of my budget to get one.

Chateau a Pape Destroyed

February 1st, 2010 No comments

The community of Moncton lost a historic architecture this past weekend. The century old building which housed a 4 generation family owned restaurant “Le Chateau a Pape” went up in flames in the early hours of Saturday morning. An RCMP officer spotted smoke coming out of the kitchen window while getting ready to leave at the end of his shift. Two hours later firefighters lost the battle to save the structure and could only try to contain the fire from areal towers. This is a sad day for the community and I wish the Gosselin family a good recovery.
